How to do an I Ching coin toss?
You determine one line by tossing three coins, and repeat it six times to build six lines from bottom to top. It's a method of reading the hexagram, made of unbroken and broken lines, by connecting it to your current situation and question.
Meaning of Main Hexagram, Changing Hexagram, and Moving Lines
The initial six lines form the main hexagram. The changing lines among them are called moving lines, and the hexagram after changing the moving lines is the changing hexagram. By looking at both hexagrams together, you can explore the enduring flow and the points of change.
What kind of questions should I write?
Instead of 'What will happen in the future?', write about choices and situations, like 'I'm wondering whether to apply now or wait for the next job posting.' In the full reading, we'll interpret the current answer and flow, the point where change begins, and your next action in order.
What you need to start
Write down what you're curious about now and toss the coins six times on the screen. Your birth date and time are not needed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need real coins?
You can toss coins on the screen to create the six lines. You don't need to prepare separate coins.
What information is used for the reading?
We use the question you wrote and the hexagram completed by your coin tosses. The input is different from Four Pillars of Destiny, which uses a fixed chart determined by your birthday.
